Sweet and Spicy: 3-Ingredient Sweet Chilli Philly Recipe

Sweet and Spicy: 3-Ingredient Sweet Chilli Philly Recipe

Why bother making your own when you can buy it in a packet?

The classic store-bought Sweet Chilli Philadelphia contains a total of 17 different ingredients. These include various components in the cream cheese base, additives in the sweet chilli sauce, and additional processing aids.

By contrast, this simplified homemade version uses just three ingredients - a significant reduction in the number and complexity of ingredients.

So, Sweet and Spicy: 3-Ingredient Sweet Chilli Philly Recipe...

Who's ready to give it a go?

Ingredients:

  • 300g Cream Cheese

  • 1 heaped tablespoon Chopped Fresh Chillis or Chopped Chillis from a jar

  • 1-2 teaspoons Honey or Maple Syrup

Instructions:

  1. Combine Ingredients: Mix the honey or maple syrup with the chopped chilli in a bowl.

  2. Sweeten to Taste: Add honey or maple syrup, starting with 1 teaspoon and adjusting as needed.

  3. Mix or Do You Mix When You Dip?: Ensure all ingredients are well combined or leave it as I have done above... Let your guests dig in with their choice of the amount of chilli!

  4. Chill and Serve: Keep it in the fridge if you aren't serving it immediately. Serve as a dip that's set to be a sure crowd pleasure!

  5. What To Dip?: This dip is really rich and quite sweet. So I recommend crunchy-seed keto crackers (these pictured are Vogel's Seed & Almond Original Keto Crackers that boast an epic ingredient list). If you want to stick to really natural and unprocessed - cucumber, courgette or celery are amazing crunchy and cool dipping options to cut through the thick creaminess of the dip!

Why Choose Simplicity?

The classic store-bought Sweet Chilli Philadelphia includes Cream Cheese, Sweet Chilli Sauce (which itself contains multiple ingredients like Water, Sugar, Red Bell Pepper, Chili, Thickeners, Garlic, Food Acids, Vegetable Gum, Colour, Preservatives), and Processing Aids.

By simplifying the recipe to just three key ingredients, you reduce the consumption of processed additives and preservatives found in the store-bought version.

Focusing on the number of ingredients, rather than calories, can naturally lead to consuming less processed food.

This approach helps you to eat cleaner, avoiding ingredients you can't pronounce, and potentially bringing a multitude of health benefits without obsessing over calorie counting.

Enjoy this straightforward, healthier version of your favourite flavour-packed spread!
